There was no line when I was there just before 4 last week. Hate you missed it but glad you got your shrimp.

Hmm, is it prime rib or can you call prime rib roast beef? I guess prime rib is a version of roast beef?

No one here has had Boars Head Prime Rib? I would have bet against that.
Joe

RE: Boars Head Prime Rib (Twinwillow)

quote:

Twin, wish I was you! You might want to try a sample of the prime rib 1st? I think they do those right before 4pm, maybe 3:30. My sample was rare but I like it that way, and w/ some horseradish.
Joe

Joe, I missed the roast beef. The line at the deli counter was 3 deep. I did not see the roast beef but I will check again next week. The shrimp were back to $12.95 a pound. And, they are actually U-15's. Still great even if they were not on sale today.

RE: Boars Head Prime Rib (PapaJoe8)

Twin, wish I was you! And oh, the side stuff they serve w/ the PR looked great! I am going to try it for dinner on my next trip to the big city.
Joe

My "cocktail sauce". Four or five big tablespoons of (Heinz) chili sauce with about one tablespoon of (Hunt's) ketchup, a shot of Lee and Perrins, a few tablespoons of strong horseradish, a few good shots of (your favorite) hot sauce and a good squeeze of fresh lemon juice. I love this simple recipe.

RE: Boars Head Prime Rib (PapaJoe8)

I read all your posts Twin, but??? did you give that coctail sauce recipe somewhere already? But, they sell it loose by the pound. I usually buy six or seven and thaw them in water and serve myself a "steakhouse" style shrimp cocktail.
I make a great cocktail sauce for dipping. The flavor and texture of the shrimp are excellent.
And, if you are familiar with my postings, you know how particular I am.

RE: Boars Head Prime Rib (PapaJoe8)

Twin, I love that store, lotsa good stuff!
