I hate to sound like a curmudgeon. But I live in Texas and I still don't see the attraction. It's not that I won't eat it. All my friends serve it. But sorry, there are brands out there that I much prefer.

I agree. I mean it's good, but nothing special. I think the other Blue is better Blue Bunny.

I also decided to try Blue Bell after readings the recommendations on here. Wallyworld had it for $5.48 for a full half gallon. We've tried two kinds now. Old fashioned vanilla with strawberries and Old fashioned vanilla with pineapple. These are both vanilla ice cream with fruit pieces mixed in and both are very tasty. I personally prefer the one with strawberries which kind of surprised me as I usually get a pineapple shake whenever available. Very good ice cream and will try again.

Finally had Blue Bell last night. We bought the Rocky Road which is my go to flavor when undecided.

It didn't seem as rich or creamy as Dreyer's (Edy's east of the Mississippi). It was good, just not over the top.

Graeter's is still the best.

I don't think I've ever tried Blue Bell. They do have it here at Walmart, Publix and Albertsons. It's quite often on sale. Think I'll give it a try.

I have favorites all across the country. If I didn't I'd be callinging myself "Lil' Al" !
On a couple of the forums operating for the hunters in Texas, I was surprised to read of the INTENSE loyalty to the Blue Bell Brand Name...and to the Braum's FF/Ice Cream stores. A LOT of my very well-armed associates on those sites enjoy their particular Ice Cream between shots !!

Ashburn's Ice Cream was the best ever but they closed up when the old man died. Braum's is good but Blue Bell is better. I prefer to have frozen yogurt over ice cream any day.

IMHO, Braum's makes much better ice cream than Blue Bell.

Interesting. I LOVE ice cream.

When in the Denison/Sherman area of Texas last year I had Braum's. I didn't find it out of the ordinary. I was told that Blue Bell is the best. Guess I'll have to try it when I'm there.

So far the bar is held by Graeter's. Rich with lots of flavor. I'm lucky to be able to buy it at my local Ralph's which is a Kroger's market.

Wish Robin Rose was still around. None better.

Hi, HollyDolly. As it turns out, I do have Bluebell's sugar free, lower fat vanilla in the freezer. Only, because of it's no sugar, low fat feature.
But, If I have a party or crave an ice cream I prefer, it's usually Hagen-Daz or even better, Graeter's Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip. Only Kroger sells it in Dallas.

I live in Texas too, and like BlueBell.Unfortunately I was just diaginosed with diabetes, so sugar free is the only way for me to go. Twinwillow, it's okay if you enjoy other brands. I'll eat Dreyers or Hagen Das or even H.E.B. brand icecream.
Ben and Jerry's is good, but no sugar free.Promised Land Dairy out near Floresville, used to make icecream, with no hormones etc, but now they just sell their milk. I think BlueBell will eventually go national.There aren't too far up the road from me,in Brenham, just never had the chance to visit their factory and go on a tour.

I live in Surprise, AZ (northwest of Phoenix) and our Safeway carries Blue Bell, so I'm assuming they probably all do. BEST ice cream ever!

Diabetic? Unfortunately, I am. Thank my lucky (Texas) stars, Blue Bell makes a very tasty Great Divide (half milk chocolate, half vanilla) sugar free ice cream. Beats every other sugar free product I've ever tried.

Blue Bell sugar free is probably the best of all the sugar free ice creams in the supermarket, but they only make chocolate, vanilla, butter pecan and banana split, which is just nasty. They used to make sugar free cookies & cream, but discontinued it.

As a diabetic who ate Blue Bell when I lived in Texas (and wasn't diabetic yet), it's frustrating that they make no attempt to vary the sugar free flavors like they do with their regular ice cream. But at least they make a few flavors, unlike Ben & Jerry's, who refuses to make any sugar free at all.

Braum's makes a lot more sugar free flavors, and is as gssd as Blue Bell, but the nearest Braum's is 60 miles away.

I know they are covering the Palm Beach county area from their new distribution center/branch there. Publix and Albertsons seems to be their biggest chains in the Florida area. Walgreens as well nationwide.

I dont know where in Indiana you live, but is avauilable in the Evansville at the Wesselmans stores. We seldom buy it but do buy a lot of Kemp' New York vanilla, which is almost like homemade.

Boy, am I ever in the minority. I've never understood the fascination with Blue Bell, and I'm an ice cream nut. It's my least favorite commercial brand. Go "figger".

We cannot get Blue Bell here in Indiana except at Outback.
I love the dessert, Sidneys Sinful Sundae!!
When I go to Tennasee to visit my husbands family I stock up.
My favorite is the vanilla it is the coldest icecream I have ever had.

I had the idea to import Blue Bell, and other products available in Texas, to Las vegas. I friend of mine was living there and made me bring all kinds of food stuff when I came to visit. I shoulda done it!

I agree. Nothing comes close.

There have been a few threads about Blue Bell, but in every case, people start referring to (confusing it with) Blue Bunny (which I think was invented to confuse people and is not even in a close league quality-wise) ... I hope it doesn't happen this time.

Where can I purchase Blue Bell Ice Cream in the state of Arizona? I live in Las Vegas but travel to Phoenix frequently. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
