Totally forgot one that I had about 7 years ago at Macaroni Grill. It was a traditional red sauced pie, but had fresh mozzarella, whole garlic cloves, pepperoni, spinach and banana peppers. It was SO good, and I'm depressed they pulled it from the menu soon after.

I had a pastrami and sliced tomato pizza at the Citadel in St. Helena California when I went to Pacific Union College in Angwin Ca. I have never had a pizza in my 50 years of life to equal that!

Last week I made my first visit to Frank Pepe's in New Haven. The white clam, which I had been waiting for 10+ years, is the best I've ever had. I also ate 1//2 of a tomato pie with bacon. While outstanding, it paled when compared to the white clam.

I hate to write this, but I have actually had some damn good pizza at the pizza station at a new grocery store here in Woodbridge, VA....at the new Wegmans. I really liked the sauce, and it was plentiful, as the cheese was, on a thin crust. 2 slices and a drink was $5.99, and it was better than most of the pizzeria pizza slices I've had in this area.

I thought it was Annandale, but wasn't sure. I was actually very surprised by the pizza. My friend lives out that way. next time I'm heading to his place I'm getting a pie

Being from Chicago I have certain preferences and deep dish is one of those...although that is certainly not the only variety I eat. And while there are some very good ones out there, far and away when I want the best I go to Lou Malnati's.

There are a few place in hoboken I like, but there's this place called Miller's Tavern in High Bridge or Annandale, NJ (can't remember which town exactly) that has great pizza. I loved it

The best pizza I ever had was at a place called Big Dave's right here in my hometown. We ate there almost exclusively until they burned down in 1995. Then they changed the recipe and it just wasn't as good. Then the restaurant closed and got sold to another local place called G's. It just isn't the same.

Beyond that I'd have to say Little Caesars always makes a very good pizza. At least my local one does.

Pizza at a baseball game, eh? Up here at Shea and Yankee Stadia, we were lucky to find hot dogs, and the famed 'peanuts and popcorn and Cracker Jack.' I'm sure that this will change drastically when we get our new stadia, and there will be lattes and frigging panini.

I'm glad, though, that you had your best pizza ever at a baseball game. That's America.

I loved the pizza in a small place called JJ Ranch in Fairview, NJ. It's long gone. We used to go there for meatball parm and the pizza back in the mid 70's. It was great.

I hate to say it, but it might be a wise idea to be annonymous. Some posters misuse this site and sad to say, I've received some nasty e-mails from some strange posters who get violent and nasty with you....and literally stalk you through e-mail. It's a sad commentary about the world we live in, but some people like to be bullies with a keyboard...most of us use this wonderful site to share ideas and fun...some take it to a personal level and are(at Best) immature and are at worst in need of lots of help. Anger management is something some former posters need to look into!!!!!!!

I'm still trying to figure out why he's on a road food related forum since all of his threads are not even food related (well I think he brought up a thread or two about jelly beans or something like that but that's it)

Tough question! Growing up in NJ, pizza is a serious food group unto itself. I regularly ate at Pete & Elda, Vic’s, and Moms as well as other miscellaneous “Tony’, Vinny’s, and Bruno’s. I’ve had pizza up and down the boardwalks including Mikes, Three Brothers and Mr. Pizza Slice. Thick crust, thin crust, sweet sauce or not, toppings are an entirely different subject. In the last 10 years I have moved to Somerset county and I have to say I have found one place I would go out of my way for, not that some others are bad. I like a place called Pizza & Pasta in Manville, it has very good, thin, brick oven Pie, always done well. There is another brick oven place on the other side of Manville I have wanted to try so I’ll report back.

In the Pacific NW it's Apizza Scholls in Portland, OR for me. When I went with my mother on a spur of the moment trip to Johnstown, PA a few years ago we probably had 6 or 7 different pizzas in 2 days, all of which were quite good but I can't remember any of the names. The best one I remember was square and was made on a supersized baking sheet. I haven't ever really gotten to experience some of the pizza hotbeds of the east coast but someday I'll make it to the "promised landd".

My favorite is the pepperoni pizza at Roseland in Derby, CT. Hands down, the best pizza ever.
