They are still available. The manufacturers in Asia have redesigned and changed the shapes making it harder for kids to choke. Check your local asian grocery stores. We have them in our supermarkets in the asian and oriental aisles, Costco, and drug store chains.

Costco and Sams had they for a while. I think you can also find them in Mexican grocery stores. I think they were banned because kids were sucking them in and they were getting caught in their throats.

I found the US FDA did a major recall of them in 2002, and then no further information. I wonder if they are still banned.

i was wondering if anyone knows any online places where i can buy those mini konjac fruit gels. hopefully an import/export site. i've found the manufacturer(sp?) Jellico Foods, but they don't sell to individuals. T__T
