That's the ticket - so many really great cheesesteaks at that price - why bother with expensive "junk" on one just to jack up the price and make it something that it really isn't..

all of these very expensive versions of regular items is just flat out stupid in my opinion. like is that really a "cheese steak" sandwich now?

just adding a bunch of expensive stuff to them is so unimaginative, lame and cheesy. just serve a plain hot dog with a side of diamonds and there you go the worlds most expensive hot dog.

do those things really qualify? sell a plain old dog for a 100 bucks and then i'll say its the most expensive dog or cheese steak or whatever the case may be.

Yeah, I heard about this waaaaaaaaaaay overpriced cheesesteak, but I don't know a soul that has actually had one.

Thanks, Harriet. That explains why they do sell a few cheesesteaks a night. I don't think our pizziola sells many $1000 pizzas, however.

Of course it's one of those places, David! Even the building it's in was originally built as a luxury hotel in 1929, and that's one of the richest areas (if not the) in the city. Rittenhouse Square has always oozed money, old and new. It's a lovely, historic area, though, to walk through and take pictures and just hang out.

LOL, that $1000 pizza joint is not even as upscale as the Barclay Prime in Philadelphia. I would really be interested in hearing from one of the Philadelphia experts if the Barclay Prime is an expense account joint.

This started a year or two ago. I'll presume the restaurant knows someone at the station and got a free promo to drum up sales.

This ranks up there with the $1,000 pizza that had 4 different caviars on it.

Complete with lobster, and truffles? Also, the steak is made from $21 per pound Kobe beef. Evidently, the restaurant, Barclay Prime, sells about 6 of these per night.
