I did not know much about Pinkberry until I saw the American Express Open commercial 1000 times. Congratulations, Pinkberry. You are getting an American Express Open card"

So, I had to try it out, and pay myself. Sigh!!

The only two that I have been able to find down here are Blissberry in South Beach, and Yogurbella in South Beach and Coconut Grove.

It's not clear to me whether the Blissberry is a franchise.

Yogurbella wants to be a big franchiser, but I only see the two Miami locations on their web site.

I wandered into the Blissberry when I was checking out Epicure Market, and I rather liked the froyo, but I have no basis for comparison with Red Mango or Blissberry. Let's see, 2.4 million people, and 3 "new" froyo places - I guess we're not overrun yet! I wouldn't mind more.

I go to the RM on 14st bet. 6 & 7th and I have to say the service is quite good, quick and efficient (in fact the order is placed by computer at the register and a little slip prints out you order plus toppings - worth it - which is placed on the cup)

The product is soft serve in a cup with up to 3 toppings. Try some fruit and some "mochi" - an asian sort of mini-marshmallow.

I've seen both in the city, but haven't been to either on yet. How is the service at those places? The one bone I have to pick regarding most chain ice cream places is that the "help" seems to be disinterested and seems to have difficulties when it comes to being able to scoop the ice cream. I've never had that problem at a local ice cream shop.

It seems like Red Mango is more popular than Pinkberry. (At least thats what I hear the customers in Red Mango say). I like it better, too.

The two stores are across the street from each other where I live in NYC. Also, Baskin Robbins is around the corner, a family owned yogurt shop is across the street from that, and a TastiDelight (my really favorite) another block away. Would you say we have a few "frozen desserts" here?

Amy & I tried both Pinkberry and Red Mango on our last trip to L.A., and both were tasty. I liked Red Mango better: a smoother consistency, plus one of the toppings was mochi (like Asian mini-marshmallows). We haven't been to L.A. since -- or tried them anywhere else -- but we will again on our next trip to SoCal. We went to Red Mango during the day, and it was mostly families with children, as opposed to the younger, late-night crowd... Chris

OK, is your locale being overrun buy hi-priced "Korean" yoghurt-erias? A few months ago I lambasted these places opening in NYC, but I have to admit I'm semi-addicted myself now! The tart favor with fresh fruits in top tastes pretty good this time of year. Although I think I am the only one over 30 in these very very popular, crowded "night sopts". Anyone else?
