A good handy item for my last minute fix of fish cakes and beans.
If you have a Trader Joe's in your area I notice in their frozen section they carry steamers, not sure if they are piss clams though.
Chow Jim

RE: The Clam Poll this week (ann peeples)

RE: The Clam Poll this week (Twinwillow)

Thanks, Ann. I love Bay scallops, sea scallops, fried, broiled, in sauce, outta sauce, but never, never, never overwhelmed or over-cooked. A close watch on the clock is needed if you're going to do them well. Sort of like clams, although there is more leeway there in some dishes.

Sorry, although I grew up on Cape Cod and now live near the Chesapeake, never got into crabs. Caught plenty of them in my youth, sold them to start my fortune (!), but never got a hankering for them. Fortunately, married a gal who although summered on the Maine Coast, never cared for them either. Almost divorced her when I found out she didn't like Clams or Scallops either! (not really - the divorce part, not the dislike part)).

Now, Lobster and Crayfish and Langoustino's............that's a WHOLE NEW TOPIC! Love 'em!
