The best "Roadfood" is finding a place with history, unique, not far out of your way/easy access, good food, quick service, and inexpensive. If that is what you are looking for, you would be missing something if you did not to go to White Manna while in NE NJ.

White Spot's "Gusburgers" made the list? I think I still have indigestion from the last one I ate in 1974 when I finished up at the U.

The Apple Pan and Joe's Cable Car are certainly not even the best burgers in California, much less the country. Like most of these lists: kinda dopey.

While the place may be legendary for reasons not related to the quality of the food, having gone to the Billy Goat Tavern while in Chicago a couple weeks ago, I can't imagine their burgers being anywhere near the best ones in the country, let alone the best ones I've had.

As a side note, I'm not convinced Big Tom's is even the best burger in Olympia let alone a top 10 nationwide joint. I think they picked it more for their "goop" than the actual burger. Not a big fan of that concoction at all but folks go nuts for it around here.
