Oh, it's not that Denny's was the highlight, it's actually remembering what I ate at a particular Denny's 29 years ago that boggles my mind.

Just lately I started wondering if we retain memories of our entire life somewhere deep in our brains, and wondering what it would take to tap into the most trivial specifics. I blew it off as a harebrained thought, but now I'm starting to wonder.

I myself remember eating a cream cheese, avocado and sprout sandwich in Sedona, Arizona in 1976, but that's because it impressed on my memory as the only thing I could afford in that town even back then.

Although I am not an exactly fan of Denny's, we race in Pomona twice a year and we stay at a Residence Inn in Ontarior very close to the airport. My brother an I are on East Tennessee time which is three hours difference than California and we are wide awake at 3:00AM eastern time. Needless to say that we hit the rack in California at our normal time which is 9:00PM which is 6:00PM California time. We awake at east Tennessee time at 3-4AM which is 12-1AM California time.

We awoke and we were hungry for coffee and food and the Denny's close by was open all night and we enjoyed them. They may not be the best but we had good service and good food.

Too bad. I've been to a number of Denny's restaurants over the years in places where there was nothing else to choose, and in places where there were other choices. Frequently, I found the food to be pretty good. Although, I've never been in a Denny's east of the Mississippi where the service was anything but bad. And I've never been in a Denny's west of the Mississippi where the service has been anything but good.

EDIT: I forgot. We stopped one night, around 11:30, at a Denny's in Rawlins, Wyoming (there wasn't anything else open that we could find) and the service there was absolutely horrible.

I am proud to say Denny's has never be a highlight in my life!Not even on my bleakest day. I have never stepped in one and don't paln to.

in my hometown arcata there is the greatest lunch/dinner place in arcata called stars hamburgers they have the best burgers really great fries and they are famus in arcata for there onion rings and also come to arcata they have alot of good restraunts
