I haven't seen it for years!!

Re:Baskin/Robbins regional flavors (catosaurus)

My best friend LOVES B&R's lemon custard ice cream, but we live in southern California, and B&R don't serve that flavor here any more (I think it died out in the 1970s).

Similarly, I LOVE their Mississippi Mud flavor, but that one only shows up sporadically -- and briefly -- in SoCal.

A few years ago, we happened to be in Kansas City, MO on a particularly cold and rainy Mother's Day. Why that led us into a B&R at 11am is beyond me. However, imagine our inmitigated joy upon discovering both lemon custard and Mississippi mud flavors available! We still speak about that experience in hushed tones.

Re:Baskin/Robbins regional flavors (enginecapt)

"Lemon Custard
This refreshing delight has been made since 1945 with rich and creamy Lemon Custard ice cream. So they new special "flavors" being offered are "Churned" (ie - vanilla, chocolate or raspberry with lower calories). I didn't try it, but was curious. Has anyone tried it?

2. In looking the above up on the web, I found B&R's site. It has some cool stuff, most interesting:

Regional Flavors!

http://www.baskinrobbins.com/IceCream/regionalflavors.aspx

For example:
Banana Nut, Oregon Blackberry: sold in Southwest and Northwest states
Chocolate Almond: Southeast states
Creole Cream Cheese : South Central states
Fudge Brownie: Rocky Mountain states
Bananas & Strawberries, Rum Raisin: Northeast

Did you know this? Do you have any regional ice cream flavors of any brand?

(Cheer up, summer ice cream seasons a comin' - days are getting longer already!)
