Maybe you labeled a photo with a shift-number symbol like "&"? Bruce helped me through this when I had written a RFDigest post and the photos failed to load on the site, though I could see them on my side... Chris

Whenever I click on a thread, if there's a picture in it, I have to right-click and then hit properties for any of them to come up. Frustrating to say the least.

Some feel this problem is linked to the fact you have cookies from old site stored in your computer. I don't know if this is true, but you can try deleting all cookies and see if it helps. Just know doing this will mean you have to sign in again as those password cookies will be deleted as well.

OK, looks like I got it. Thanks for the help troubleshooting it!

I have been unable to use the little click on tool for dropping in photos. For whatever reason, the box opens and I can paste in url, but there is nothing to click on to send to message.

I have just been manually typing [img] [/img] before and after any photo URL.

I'm using the photo icon in the easy-formatting above the text box, not doing it manually. From Photobucket, you can copy and paste the location already tagged; that doesn't work. In this post, I will try to do it manually....

Here...I copied and pasted actual picture, and under that copied and pasted link to picture.

As I write this I see the picture, and underneath the link.

When I hit preview, I see TWO pictures...

Now I hit post message and came back to write this. I see two pictures again.

Hmmmm. This seems different then what you are seeing.

Thanks, Tony. Photobucket. When I copy and past the link, using ctrl-v, the picture shows up in my post as I'm writing it; but when I check the preview, or post what I've written, the picture doesn't appear.

When you say you copy and paste, do you mean the picture itself or a url from photobucket? Don't mean to insult you with that question...I am just unsure what you mean when you say "the picture shows up in my post as I'm writing it;".

When I am pasting links I never see the actual picture until I hit preview or view the actual post. All I see is [img]blah,blah[/img].

Hope that makes sense.

Flickr works better if you paste as plain text and put the brackets around it, but every 15th photo or so will not resolve because I guess Flickr's put something in there to discourage you from doing it.

OK; when I go back and hit edit, there is no code at all; it's as if I didn't enter a link, as if I'd forgotten to put it in. This is both from work and from home, Vista at home and XP Pro at work; both Firefox 3.0.5.

I think the new software is a lot more fussy about proper format of links.

I know if I copy and paste links from imageshack or Flickr I will often get issues where it appears the code for the font used to write link I copied is interfering with the picture appearing.

I'd suggest for now you go back and hit edit to see if url for picture is as intended, or if some font scrips have been added.

What hosting site are you using?

Not a complaint, a question. I'm trying to figure out why my photo links don't work, if it's on my end or yours. Sorry if it was announced and I missed it, I don't keep up all that well. FWIW, I like having pictures, but you guys do what you want, I'm fine either way.
