Hot Lips Pizza, Portland, OR, makes all their sodas inhouse, using local berries and sugar--the redder berry brews are better than the darker berries--at the counter they couldn't give us an answer for that poser--they also sell their line at select area grocery/health food stores---

I used to get Black Cherry Soda with real sugar from Trader Joe's. WOW what a great flavor! I can't remember the brand name. I lived very close to Mexico and the Mexican Coca-Cola always had real sugar in it. We could get it in the Carnicerias but not in Grocery stores.

I don't drink Coke or Pepsi anymore. As much as I love them both, I only drink soft drinks made with Splenda. However, because of threads like this, I've started to look at "contents" labeling on these products and I've noticed here in Dallas, Coke made with sugar instead of corn syrup is readily available in local Dallas markets. I've been tempted but........

diet coke made with splenda is available here in the seattle area. tastes much better than the aspartame-sweetened stuff....

If the price of corn keeps rising, thanks to Ethanol, Coke will have no choice but to begin using cane sugar again. They would be silly not to. Coke will come around. You just watch and see.

I called Coke's consumer phone line when I heard of Pepsi Throwback and asked if the "Real Thing" had any intentions of becoming the real "Real Thing" again. She thanked me for my comments and told me Coca Cola had no plans to introduce real sugar in their products(other than Kosher Coke and what is bottled in Mexico). Still with Pepsi's Advertising blitz coming, I wonder.....!

When we were in Texas a couple of years ago we bought Dr. Pepper made with real cane sugar and you can definitely tell the difference.

Someone I was speaking with about this topic asked, "I wonder, since corn is now being used in ethanol so much more than before, if the price of corn has gone up so much that it is cheaper now to use sugar?"

For the flagship PepsiCo brands, Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Mountain Dew and Sierra Mist, PBV also is beginning to distribute the brands featuring their new redesigned graphics and packaging, which is part of a holistic campaign aimed at drawing in younger consumers.
