This may be the best seafood value I've ever had.
We did get outside after lunch and couldn't believe the size of the dock where one can eat at tables placed on the dock. There were two places on the dock to purchase seafood.
This place is a "must see" if you are in Cape May or visiting AC.
There were four in our party and everyone agreed that this was the best experience of Cape May.
Re:Lobster House, Cape May (HPlatz)
The Lobster House is by far my favorite restaurant in CM. We always had dinner inside and found the food to be very good and in good quantity. They used to give all the patrons a comp glass of wine with dinner. Don't know if this is still the standard. We found that you need to go early or the wait can be a little daunting. The great aspect of Lobster House is how cheap it is for the quality of food. They have to do a big, big volume. I'm sure there are many folks on this forum who really wouldn't believe their prices on your higher-end seafood. You can see from the OP that for $12 they got a great deal. Even without the specials their prices are hard to beat.

Re:Lobster House, Cape May (ChrisOC)
Just to let everyone know, the buy one get one on Sundays is over for the season.

Re:Lobster House, Cape May (Jaybo)

  Shoot!!!

We went to the Lobster House that same day and didn't know about the BOGO deal! Oh well, the regular price didn't seem to reduce the food quality. ;)

We also visited the ship and the fort a few days later. The concrete ship is still at the end sunset road and as mentioned, you only see about 20 feet of the hull anymore. A new feature is that the nearby concrete lookout tower is now open to the public. We didn't go in, it looks about 60 feet tall.

The fort by the lighthouse is now back on the beach...or more accurately, the beach has been replenished back under the fort. You can easily walk around the whole thing and climb it if you wanted to ignore the signs. Too bad they won't restore it, I would have liked to go inside and pretend to be on watch. But with 30 feet of concrete walls that are 2 feet thick, I understand that making it safe may not be possible.

BTW - I haven't been in years, but my wife and I had one of most memorable meals at Tisha's in Cape May - it is the only eating place actually ON the ocean beach (next to the music pier). It isn't roadfood but higher end stuff. When we sat down to a late dinner, the sun set, then a thunderstorm rolled in and we watched lighting hit the dark ocean as we ate. Now THAT was cool!

Re:Lobster House, Cape May (harriet1954)

DPuro329

ChrisOC,
Thanks for sharing, the food and pics do look great. We went there last May and I had one of the best burgers in my life. There's nothing like a seafood combination.

Cape May is a great town. I like it better in the winter without the Bennies. It’s a little far away from me now, but I like to visit every now and then.

Is the concrete shipwreck and the concrete fort up the beach from St.????’s still there? The last time I saw the fort it was 50’ out from the surf line and all the pilings underneath it were exposed.

Re:Lobster House, Cape May (leethebard)

Cape May...what a beautiful way to spend a warm day....and the food there is sooo good!
