Im not a big fan of the tamales you can get in restaurants those usually arent home made from my experience. Most of my family is from Gary Indiana and I always grew up having homemade pork tamales around Christmas and New Years. Usually the kind you buy by the dozen not necessarily the ones you buy one or two at a time. Ive tried making them a few times but I can never get it right. Usually the meat tastes great but I can never get the masa correct usually its too think and falls apart where as the ones Im used to is nice and thin and the perfect consistency. So Im trying to find a place in Columbus that makes them and sells them by the dozen.
