We go to Nashville often as my kids attend several swim meets there each year. We finally found the time to check them out back in March. WOW!

The first thing that struck us as we entered was the large man sitting to the left of the ordering window, blue T-Shirt & ball cap with "SECURITY" printed on both. Draped around his shoulders was a holster containing his dual side-arms. Nice touch!

I've been reading about this place for years and had no intentions of getting anything less than "hot" chicken. So thats what I got..half chicken, HOT. My wife foolishly followed suit. Next time she'll get mild. WOW.

I enjoy heat, and I enjoyed this chicken, but I gotta tell ya...that stuff is righteous. Without the spice it would have been the best fried chicken I ever had. With the spice, I really cant compare it to anything else I've eatin. That stuff lit me up...created hellfire in my stomach ...but I can't wait to do it again.

Re:Prince's hot chicken shack (allyk)

If you don't want to wait a long time at Prince's, call ahead. They cook everything to order and do a huge take-out business. We know we are going to wait an hour or so, and call that far ahead.
There are alternatives: 400 Degrees and Bolton's have excellent chicken. Don't forget to try hot fish--East Side Fish has the best. And Fat Mos', a local burger chain, does an excellent fish sandwich.

Re:Prince's hot chicken shack (wheregreggeats.com)

Is there anything comparable in Memphis ???

Re:Prince's hot chicken shack (TJ Jackson)

If an out-of-towner WANTED hot chicken, tho -- where would you take them, PP?
Re:Prince's hot chicken shack (Poverty Pete)

There are so many good places to eat in Nashville, I seldom take out-of-towners to either Prince's or Loveless.
