I hadn't heard about this; however, I was not a regular. Typically, if I was eating on the North Side, I'd have Italian. I did have some lunches and pre-SU event meals at Danzers off of Brighton Ave.

It looks like the family owned owned and operated since the 40s.... Webers German Rest on Syracuses north side is officially closed !
After suffering sales tax issues a few times last year and short closures by the NYS tax commission the resturant was closed suddenly again in Feb. 08 and "closed for remodeling" signs were posted. Well as of last week there have been for sale/for lease signs posted so I guess they are officially done.
Its quite a shock for me as I know the place and owners well because my Grandma worked there for years from when I was a kid and I grew up in that neighborhood!
