My first visit there and it is a very cool place. Located in the old offices of the long gone Raleigh Times newspaper it has become quite a hot spot. I was there for lunch and the place was packed.

As far as the burger, I don't know about NC's best but it was very good. I ordered it medium and it was cooked perfectly. The cucumber salad was very good as were the chips. Add a couple of PBRs and it was a darn good lunch and a good way to start the holiday weekend.

http://www.raleightimesbar.com/

Re:50 Burgers, 50 States (The Travelin Man)

 I tried.

CajunKing failed me.
Re:50 Burgers, 50 States (Soccer862923)

This past weekend I checked out Terry's Turf Club in Cincinnati, representing Ohio in the supposed burger pantheon. This is definitely the real deal.

Knowing that it was going to be an all nighter I took orders for about 10 of us and made my way to Terry's. The neighborhood looks a tad sketchy but the bar was awesome. It had this great mantra to it and the staff was super nice.

We ended up ordering 10 burgers and drove back to Xavier University. Even after the 15 min car ride back to Xavier the burgers were still fantastic. I mean I can't imagine how good they would have been fresh but everyone thought that their burger was fantastic. I highly recommend coming here should you get a chance.
Re:50 Burgers, 50 States (ellen4641)

 P.S....
NO, I will not be on the Buffalo/Rochester tour, Bruce..
but I hope to see you somewhere around the country soon..
(maybe even at Harold's Deli!)

Re:50 Burgers, 50 States (ellen4641)

Thanks for that naked shot, No Carolina!

I'd love to belt it out (my newly crafted Roadfood burger song)
but only problem is I can't sing worth a sh*t; I need some assistance, guys!
It's Kareoke time!

Re:50 Burgers, 50 States (MiamiDon)

I commend the list compiler for making an effort to be "regionally appropriate," [cue wanderingjew!] but I don't agree with the choice of the El Rey de las Fritas chain as making the best frita (think: Cuban slider) in town. My choice would be Fritas Domino El Original at 936 SW 67th Avenue. It's a real dive, but they have some kind of machine that makes really fine potato threads for frying that go on the fritas, instead of the more common shoe-string potatos (sometimes from a can!).

Re:50 Burgers, 50 States (buffetbuster)

 nocarolina-
An article in the local paper partially about the previously mentioned Redamak's.

http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/09156/969558-37.stm

Re:50 Burgers, 50 States (Bruce Bilmes and Susan Boyle)

ellen4641

Glad you liked my crafty thoughts, Bruce!

Now we've just got to set those words to the beat of another song...
(perhaps "I love rock and roll, so put another dime in the jukebox, baby"..)
(Joan Jett and the Blackhearts)

alright, here we go....it's kareoke time... "I'd LOVE to see the meat, so lift up the bun where the meat is , baby.....
