Absinthe has a notorious past as it is supposed to make you hallucinate after over imbibing. Used to be banned. It is now available in the U.S. but is VERY expensive. $89.00 per fifth. That's a lot of money for a 1/5 and it it isn't even aged that long. Go figure.

Back in my underaged youth, we drank 100 proof bottom shelf vodka 50/50 with RealLemon. Called it a Vodka SS. (Super Sour) Wasn't much of a drink, other than for getting ripped fast.

WarToad, we used to do that with lemonade and called it Slamming Lemons. I actually do drink today a vodka/pink lemonade from time to time and it is quite refeshing after a long day

I remember mixing equal parts Everclear and Hawaiian Punch original mixed in a large cooler. To this you added ice, sliced pineapple, peaches, oranges, and maybe grapes. This was what gave me my first black-out ever. It tasted good but would kill you.

In college we had quite a few uses for this. I'll only list a couple....

1. Demon Drops - Pour a shot glass half full of Everclear, top with Orange Juice, enjoy. Or don't.

2. Liquid Spree - 4 Cans of Sprite. Two rolls of Spree candy. Four shots of Everclear. This literally tastes like drinking Spree, but it will knock you on your keister!

That third degree burn sounds terrible. I would just stick with the rumple. I'd take the rum but in a rum and coke.

I learned a long time ago how to drink Manhattans and Martinis -------- I ain't never forgot. They do the trick for me----somewhere like 20,000 of 'em later I am still going strong. Just thinking that if I never drank I would be a rich man---20000 X $5
(more or less) = $100,000 invested in blue chip stocks and bonds----hmmmmmmmm.

Perhaps this will cheer you up. GM used to be a blue chip stock. You made a better investment.

I'm going to nominate the Third Degree Burn ...
A shot of (equal amounts of) each, 100 proof Rumpleminz, 100 proof Southern Comfort and Bacardi's 151 Rum. This drink could also probably be mentioned on the "Worst Drink Ever" thread too ... but if you choke it down, pretty soon you forget the taste.

As far as a "class" of drink as notorious ... I'm going to say the "grape juice" class (if you can call it that). Grape juice is the classic "nah, there's not much booze in it" mixer from teen years ... often the mixer for 151.
"Hey! This doesn't taste too bad!" ... uh-huh.
