Back to the subject. I ate at the bubba-Que in Brandon last night. I had the rib-pulled pork combo, my wife had the brisket dinner.
The ribs were dry and tough. They supplied a plastic knife and fork and the knife wouldnt cut the ribs apart. When I complained, the server said well they are supposed to be so tender they fall aprt, no need to cut 'em. She also offered to bring me some more. I declined as they were so dry I had to douse 'em with sauce to eat them.
My wife's brisket was moist but shredded, not sliced, no sign of a smoke ring and not even a hint of smoke flavor. My pulled pork was the only meat item that was acceptable, but still not smokey.

They dont have a beer license and I should have left as soon they told me that. Whats the point of bar b q without a cold beer?

So, in a nut shell, below average bar b q and a rough experience. I wont be going back.

There is a tremendous amount of Q places that can't or won't serve beer. I won't hold that against them.

Boy what a tough crowd. You quickly have dashed my hope of finding decent BBQ in the Tampa area. I was suspicious because I haven't found any, not because I thought Ted was a shill...lots of folks around here have never seen decent bbq.

I just want Mister Whatever-his-name-is to come out of the woodwork and tell us why this Bubbaque is so great. He's so mysterious!

Wow, I guess Bronson is moving up so to speak, I had no idea Bronson Motor Speedway was still in business, but I don't get out to the woods that much, out much period. Tiny little town. At least Chiefland has a little bit of a population, heck they even have Super Walmart.

The first one opened in Bronson, not far from Gainesville, FL. Then another in Chiefland, Lakeland and now in Brandon! Excellent Real Smoked Pulled Pork and Ribs, with some of the best sauce around! The atmosphere is awesome too. Not for the stuffed shirt types! Stop in when you are in FL and you will not be disappointed!

What is the opposite of "real smoked pulled pork", do places down there serve up fake smoked pulled pork, inquiring minds want to know!
