I don't ever get out much. And, having grown up on Long Island, I surely don't have any idea what Italian food tastes like.

Your co-workers are obviously right.

But, it does seem a little odd that you condemn said barbecue without having eaten any of it.

Yeah, you probably think Olive Garden offers great Italian food- What do Long Islanders know?!
No I never said I'm condemning it, I just wonder if its "the best bbq ever" as my coworkers exclaim

He's JTM. of course he doesnt travel.

Anyway, I am sure that Becky's has a better than decent chance of serving bbq that is better than any Famous Dave's meal or any McRib sandwich served in any of the aforementioned states.

Perhaps in some other states as well

We're having our lunch at work catered today by Beckys BBQ in Middletown RI.

My coworkers insist that this bbq is equal to (if not better) than bbq served in Tennessee, Texas, Kansas City or anywhere else for that matter, and collectively ridicule me for thinking otherwise. Since they outnumber me 100 to 1, perhaps they're right, who am I to argue.. Just like I didn't argue a decade ago with my coworkers in Pittsburgh who told me that Haluski is an "All American Dish" served everywhere around the country and a decade and a half earlier with my coworkers from Seattle who told me that "pizza is pizza" or nearly 2 decades ago with my coworkers from Long Island who told me that the best Mexican food can be found in New York City- bar none.
