Gunder and St. Olaf are only about 8 miles apart. A Gunderburger and St. Olaf's "World's Largest" tenderloin is an awful lot of food to digest in one trip.

The GB has been mentioned here several times and is on my list of things to try, but unfortunately my trips to Iowa never get any farther north than US-20. If I ever get the chance I'm going to stop at the place in St. Olaf for a breaded pork tenderloin sandwich as well.

I prefer my burgers with two all beef patties...special sauce...pickles....

The Gunder burger is made by the Shanti restaurant in Gunder IA located near Clairemont IA in Clayton county. It's a 20 ounce burger made with 80% lean beef served with mushrooms and onions plus your choice of potatoes. It's an awesome burger! The Shanti has other good food on the menu but the Gunder burger is tops. They also offer a smaller version of the GB which just as good. It's really off the beaten path but it's worth the trip. Good food, good scenery.
