The Newport, Kentucky area is a nice riverfront area and a historical place as well. My friend, Gracie Muldoon, has opened a cafe at 529 Overton St(corner of 6th and Overton) in historic Newport called the Blue Stars Cafe.

She specializes in deli sandwiches, homemade chili and soup, breakfast sandwiches, salads and some homemade desserts like brownies. The subs are very fresh and filling. Everything there is really tasty.

The cafe itself has a bluegrass music theme and on Saturdays there are usually a few pickers jamming there. Gracie will go out of her way to make you smile and she'll even sing for you. I really enjoyed my visit there last week.

So after you take a nice horse drawn carriage ride along the Levee, stop by and see Gracie and sit a spell and have one of her super sandwiches and a bowl of chili.

Here's a link for the menu: http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=405184497&albumID=1492985&imageID=20111900
