two changes that I believe were part of this (or less

recent) site upgrade but a major kudos in both:

I may be late to the game in noticing the following

two changes that I believe were part of this (or less

recent) site upgrade but a major kudos in both:

(1) making the posting of images that much more easier

and via a single online clickable icon (and versus the whole

[image][/image] thing);

(2) and MORE IMPORTANTLY (and having been a disciple of

such a needed change for years), incorporating a prompt

which asks posters if they've already checked the 427 other

"Where to Eat in Buffalo?" threads before posting a new, yes,

"Where to Eat in Buffalo?" thread.

Great improvements and great job!!

When I went to post a new topic today, the forum software "suggested" three other threads that I might consider before posting a new thread!!! Yay.

TJ, you can pretty much do this with the following link - http://www.roadfood.com/Forums/search.aspx?searchfor=today&forumid=ALL&author=

Which is the same as clicking on Show Me All Unread Topics, and then selecting Today's Posts in the Search For box and clicking on Apply. The results are listed in time order, and anything posted since you last checked is in bold.

superfood811 has just been vaporized. The new forum makes it really easy to nuke the spammers when they poke their head. I am also going to encourage the developer to prevent new users from posting links because that will take away the spammers ammunition.

I scrolled all the way to the bottom of the screen and see this site is now using version 3.5 of the software. Kindly do report bugs on the bug thread so the developer will be aware of them. Hopefully he also posts here (about roadfood.)

On my pages of the threads, there is a "Rate post" and, "Report abuse" along with the post number UNDER EACH post on the right side.

Yes, that's what I see, and that post number does tie it to the correct post for those who are paying close attention. But I think it's a little confusing. I think it might be made a lot clearer if that horizontal line was removed - the line just above the Rate Post/Report Abuse buttons. Then it would look a lot more like part of the right post, instead of being set off from it.

Right. So, the "Rate post" and, "Report abuse" text is for the post ABOVE? I'm confused.

i like the new (old?) format - easy to read! color's okay, too (although, having the option to customize wouldn't be looked askance at )

i'm glad you decided to put a carter's forum in - it WAS really needed

i agree with the comments about the time posts were made...showing 'hours ago' during the first 24 is okay...anything longer than that should really have the date on it. some threads go quite a ways back...i'd think there'd be something in the formatting that would prohibit/max out the number of hours that can be listed and that might cause an issue...

i don't see a preference for this in the ucp - any way to tweak the settings from the admin panel so that the date appears rather than amount of hours since the post was made?

When the post get flagged it is assigned to a moderator who is notified by email. We can then track all the warnings and run reports to find frequent offenders.

It's not real clear whether that refers to the post just above or just below. Close inspection seems to indicate it's the post above, but I think it's not that obvious.

That has been in place for a few months. We only want real Roadfood posts to be rated.
