Unless things changed, they are only open to US military personnel, dependents, and authorized civilians/contractors. The locations are all on or near our military bases.

ADDENDUM: This page explains who is permitted to eat at AAFES facilities:
http://www.salutetoyourservice.com/archives/28

I haven't looked at AAFES directories in years, and am surprised to see the amount of their restaurant operations devoted to fast food.
Re:Roadfood.com on German TV (Rusty246)

A couple of steps missing but I think we can figure it out. :)

Re:Roadfood.com on German TV (6star)

Though not the recipe for Prince's Hot Chicken, here is an award-winning Nashville Hot Chicken recipe: http://blogs.nashvillescene.com/bites/2008/07/bites_exclusive_winning_hot_ch.php

The Paste (enough for one or two chicken breasts):
1 tbsp plus 2 tsp lard
3 tbsp cayenne
3 pinches sugar
3/8 tsp salt
¼ tsp garlic powder

Other Ingredients:
Self-rising flour, chicken, white bread, and pickles

All the seasoning is in the paste; dredge the chicken in plain self-rising flour. Fry it.

Mix all of the ingredients for the paste (microwaving the lard for about 30 seconds will make this easier). Apply it evenly and liberally to the fried chicken using either a basting brush or your latex glove-protected hands. Note: I generally use about a teaspoonful of paste for each side of a chicken breast. This method is the only way I know to get the orange, grease-soaked white bread that is the hallmark of all true hot chicken.

When you've covered the top half, flip it over onto a piece of white bread and finish the job. Enjoy.
Re:Roadfood.com on German TV (russ2304)

  APO AE 27546 09139
Bamberg, APO 9139 49-951-937-0114 AAFES AE 09034 Unit 23819, Bldg 8125
Baumholder, Sarasota Ave - AE 09114
Grafenwoehr, APO AE 09102 Unit 29235 Bldg 3815
Heidelberg, APO 09102 49-6221-182-578 APO AE 660202
Manheim, APO 09086 49-621-723-119 APO AE 09012 Unit 3370 Bldg 2188
Ramstein, APO 09012 49-637-142-700 APO AE 09033 Unit 25846 Bldg 1080
Schweinfurt, APO 09033 49-972-187-553 APO AE 09137 Unit 3985
Spangdahlem, APO 09137 49-6565-4531 Panzer Food Court Panzer Strasse Beg 2903
Stuttgart, APO AE 09112 Unit 28030 Bldg 2203
Vilseck, APO 09112 49-9662-7268 APO AE 09094 Unit 3370 Bldg 2045
Vogelweh Air Base, APO 09094 49-6315-6402 APO AE 09142-0003 Unit 29804 Bldg 51
Wiesbaden, APO 09142 49-611-713-022
Hey Johanna=-=-welcome aboard the roadfood train==========all of the above are locations of Popeyes Fried Chicken outlets in Germany====don't know if any are near you but they have a very good Spicy (hot) fried chicken imho much better than KFC!

All Best====Russ
Re:Roadfood.com on German TV (David_NYC)

  Johanna,
Welcome and please see this video with the former Bürgermeister of Nashville:
http://www.nashvillehotchickenfestival.com/Contact_Us.php

While the recipes used by these restaurants are all closely guarded secrets, you can find recipes here on roadfood.com and on other web sites. See this discussion:
http://www.roadfood.com/Forums/tm.aspx?New-Nashville-Hot-Chicken&m=317139

There have been a number of Nashville Hot Chicken discussions here on Roadfood.
