(NC Cheesehead)

 Hi all,

I have been a lurker on this site for some time now and finally decided to sign up. I have greatly appreciated and have received hours of enjoyment reading all of what you have wrote....especially your trip reports. Thanks to all!

I have recently moved from Madison WI to the Indian Trail NC area south of Charlotte due to a job change. I love the area and enjoy the different kinds of foods this area offers. (I don't think I have ever seen a larger concentration of BBQ and fried Chicken joints!) But there are a few things I am homesick for that I just can't seem to find here. Maybe some of you who know the area better can help me out? (Nancypalooza there?) The things I am looking for in particular:

1. Prime Rib. Wisconsin is loaded with "Supper Club" type places that offer a healthy portion of prime rib, all the sides and a cocktail at a reasonable price. I don't feel like spending $40 a plate at an expensive downtown Charlotte steak house. Just a nice little "mom and pop" type place would be perfect.

2. Good frozen custard. By reading your trip reports, I know most of you are aware of all the good custard stands Wisconsin has. Any down here?

3. A meat market that makes a good beef or hot stick. When in Wisconsin, there were many meat markets that had the kind of beef or hot sticks that would "SNAP"
when you would bite into them. Glenn's meat market in Watertown Wi was one but this one was even better: http://www.explorewiscons..om/schroedlsmeatmarket/

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Again, I thank all of you for your hours of reading enjoyment and I look forward to contributing in the future.
