Think we will give Cantler's a visit.I just bought a $25 certificate on restaurant.com for $2 for Cantler's. Thanks for the suggestions and for the info on Harry Brownes.

Thanks for all the replies.Our hotel package includes Sunday brunch at Harry Brownes. Any info on this place?

Harry Browne's is Annapolis' version of DC's Monocle -- an age old stalwart on State Circle popular with Maryland's lawmakers when they're in session (the first three months of the year) and serving traditional American fare for both lunch and dinner. Not exactly a "destination" place but not a bad one either. Brunch there sounds perfect.

Speaking of State Circle, BTW, and a stone's throw away from Harry Browne's if the very underrated Potato Valley Cafe...

...(popular more with the staff of the aforementioned lawmakers as well as for the quick but delicious business lunch). As the name indicates, the place specializes in perfectly baked and oversized potatos filled with a spectrum of offerings (Cuban chicken, salads, curried chicken, mango, fried onions, bacon, what-have-you...).

I have always enjoyed Chris's Charcoal Pit. Greek type diner with good portions and very good overall food. It's close to the highway (Rt 50) but not far from downtown historic Annapolis.

I've went to Annapolis a couple years ago on business, and was there for four nights. One night, not far from my hotel, I stumbled upon this pub....Galway Bay. It was very good and authentic, and I had the best corned beef dinner I've ever had....in fact, it was so good, I ate there again before I left town. Tender flavorful corned beef, steamed cabbage, a mash of potatoes and spring onions called colcannon, and a very unique mash of carrots and parsnips, all washed down with a Guiness and served with some excellent irish bread....wow, I still remember this meal.

Carroll's Creek Cafe -- 410 Severn Avenue, Annapolis

It has been a while since I have been there, and I have only been there for Sunday brunch, but the brunch was very nice, and it is on the water directly across from the Naval Academy, so the views are great.

And would only add that: (1) further information

about all three Annapolis haunts can be found right

above; (2) and that, to me, the perfect epicurean

day in the world's sailing capital would be:

Breakfast @ Chick & Ruth's along with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Lunch @ The Boatyard and their flounder dredged in crushed corn flakes then deep fried pannini sandwich.

Dinner on the covered deck @ Cantler's cracking crabs.

Cantler's is one of our favorites for crabs on the water. In Eastport we like Boatyard Bar and Grill. Caffe Pronto, 49 West and City Dock for coffee. O'Leary's for upscale dining.
