BBQ, Diners, Bakeries, Mexican and other international types and even Ice Cream Parlors are found on the list. It does move rather quickly. But you can find a list of locations and even some 'sub-ratings' on their website.

http://www.travelchannel....ows/Chowdown_Countdown
Re:101 tastiest places to chowdown (John Fox)

Yes and no. There was a lot of footage shot the day that the Travel Channel was at Jimmy Buff's. Not all was used. There was some new stuff on the latest show that wasn't aired on Hot Dog Paradise.

Re:101 tastiest places to chowdown (joerogo)

John Fox, I saw you at Buff's. Was that the same review that was shown on HD Paradise?

Re:101 tastiest places to chowdown (sk bob)

you might be right saps, but it looks & sounds like those Paradise shows.
theres another thread in Misc. forums titled coutdown to chowdown.
take a look

Re:101 tastiest places to chowdown (saps)

You're wrong there, sk bob. While there may be some overlap, there are places on the first episode that haven't been covered, and it's not a compendium of old shows. Besides, there's 81 one more places to go, so I don't know how you could make an assessment based upon one show.

Re:101 tastiest places to chowdown (sk bob)

just watched it on th DVR.
nothing special just a condensed version of other shows.

Re:101 tastiest places to chowdown (the grillman)

I could look forward to this, as long as they don't have an annoying host....
Re:101 tastiest places to chowdown (John Fox)

The show's first segment will be this Sunday.

http://en.sevenload.com/videos/ACmxJi8-101-Tastiest-Places-To-Chowdown

Re:101 tastiest places to chowdown (EatingTheRoad)

RC51Mike

The potential is certainly there. While they do hit the cliched places, I'm a little surprised that Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives as well as Man vs. Food and maybe a couple other shows, visit a number of good places that haven't been beaten to death on TV.

I agree. I think they do a reasonable job of highlighting the obvious ones as well as lesser known spots. Usually you see Nathan's, Pink's, and Rutt's Hut featured when it comes to hot dogs, but the Travel Channel featured Jimmy Buff's, a restaurant specializing in a regional specialty not particularly well known outside of New Jersey.
Re:101 tastiest places to chowdown (kennyb)

can't wait. about time they produce new shows. the old ones are great but seen them a 100 times.

Re:101 tastiest places to chowdown (1bbqboy)

 Oh, I'll watch too.
Re:101 tastiest places to chowdown (Foodosaurus)

bill voss - I'm sure that you're correct; many of the places shown will have been on many different shows as well as featured on this website. But I think they will be able to add new depth and hopefully showcase some foods at each place that haven't been talked about as much. I'm certainly looking forward to watching.
Re:101 tastiest places to chowdown (1bbqboy)

all the same places that are always discussed.

Re:101 tastiest places to chowdown (leethebard)

Thanks, John...got to give it a look!

Re:101 tastiest places to chowdown (EatingTheRoad)

The Travel Channel usually does a good job on the production of these shows. I'm assuming it'll be in the same vein as the "... Paradise" (Hamburger Paradise, Hot Dog Paradise, etc) shows. They have that generic narrator, not a host. Should be good.
Re:101 tastiest places to chowdown (HDtravlr1)

Thanks for letting us know about the new show.
