I used to sell it in my dad's drug store as a fountain drink in a cone shaped, paper cup. It was a concentrate back then, that was mixed with soda water.
Re:Another Hot Dog U Grad in the news (JRPfeff)

 Great link 6star!

Thanks.
Re:Another Hot Dog U Grad in the news (6star)

UncleVic

What the heck is a Green River Soda? Tomorrow will be at the grand opening of Dr. Dawg and we'll be there to join in the festivities and wish him the best. His signature sausage is a jumbo Polish prepared on a flat grill with grilled onions. His menu features fresh cut fries, with some Chicago and Milwaukee favorites...Green River, Orange Crush, and Sprecher's Root Beer. Tomorrow will be "Two for the price of one day."

CSD PhD Professor of Hot Dogs
Re:Another Hot Dog U Grad in the news (JRPfeff)

 Brad,

Dr. Dawg is located in a very competitive area, just about every fast food franchise imaginable is there. So is our beloved Penguin Drive-in. Something has got to give. They can't all be winners in that smallish city.

Jim
Re:Another Hot Dog U Grad in the news (guspas)

 Good for him.

Re:Another Hot Dog U Grad in the news (ScreamingChicken)

I found it amusing that he previously worked for Burger Boat, which despite the name is actually a shipbuilder and not a restaurant.

Manitowoc's an interesting choice for a test market.

Brad

Another Hot Dog U Grad in the news (JRPfeff)

CSD told me about this place on Sunday. Today the story is front & center in the online Milwaukee paper. Another proud graduate of Hot Dog University.

The difference between a $30 million yacht and a $3 hot dog isn't a big deal.

At least that's what David Ross, former president of Burger Boat Co., hopes in his new career as a hot dog restaurant owner in Manitowoc.

Saturday, Ross plans to open Dr. Dawg - the first of what could be a chain of Chicago-style hot dog eateries.

It's the latest venture for the entrepreneur widely credited for salvaging Burger Boat from bankruptcy and creating hundreds of jobs at the company's Manitowoc shipyard.

...

A Chicago native, Ross is passionate about hot dogs sold on the city's streets.

"I found that I became particularly aware of every nuance and detail that separated the good from the really great stands. I have my favorite places that I go to every time I visit Chicago. I will hit one, two or three of them depending on how long I stay."

His test marketing in Manitowoc, and a course in hot dog business management, led Ross to create Dr. Dawg.

The dog wagon had developed a cult-like following, with regular customers called the "Dawg Squad."
