I do remember surviving on Tacos one summer in college for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner....
I would however have to chose Pork Chops: center cut, 3/4" thick with a good layer of fat surrounding it dredged in flour and pan fried in a cast iron skillet with the rice and gravy
to go with it.

I think the concept of only ONE ingredient is flawed, inpractical, and not in line with the original idea...

This (above quote) is the ORIGINAL post...and MULTIPLE elemants (ingredients) ARE used in her favorite, in this case pizza...

Hence, pizza, taco, stew. etc ARE valid answers IMHO, taking our que from the original post...

If one tried to construe this to mean only 1 ingrediant, it would be very narrow in definition, and probably pretty bland as well...(here's your bowl of wheat grains)...

One food, only one food, not a combination of ingredients (foods) to make pizza, cheeseburgers, tacos, etc.

The Avocado. Protein, fat, fiber, vitamin C and the list goes on. Of course, you'd get darn sick and tired of them eventually, but they'd keep you alive and healthy.

Bacon and sausage pie, well done, from Pepe's Apizza is my first choice. A close second would be Fried Dumplings and Moo Sho Pork from a long gone "Sing Woo" restaurant on Second ave and St. Marks Place in NYC.

After seeing today's photo of hanger steak from FIGs in SC, I may be changing my mind. How was that cooked, Michael? Hanger steak is one of my favorite cuts. I grill it or -- yes -- grind it for cheeseburgers.
