I have not seen the skinless Vienna retail hot dogs in the grocery section of any New York metropolitan area Target store in at least 2 years. The problem is that they did not sell. Probably due to no brand name recognition. I would often buy a package with the expiration date only a week out. I would buy them for company that did not like the kosher-style franks.

ADDENDUM: When I posted my message above, I forgot that the Vienna franks didn't sell well around here. Asking Target to bring them back makes no sense. Acer2x reported a similar finding in Pennsylvania:

One of the specials at the ALDI chain of stores in my location a few months ago was "Parkway All Beef Hot Dogs by Vienna Beef" (skinless). I got a pack. I have never had a Vienna Beef dog so I was looking forward to these franks. Sorry, Thumbs Down. I'm sure these were made for price because they sure tasted it. Even Save a Lot's Fairground Jumbo Beef Franks taste better.

Vienna Beef retail hot dogs are skinless. Some Target grocery sections do not stock them.

I haven't seen the dogs sold in the grocery section last time I was in Target. But this was at least a year or more ago. I'll look again. Are they natural casing or skinless?

Vienna Beef makes two completely different products that are sold at Target. One is a 5/1 skinless hot dog specifically made for use on Target roller grills. The repackaged retail Vienna Beef hot dogs sold in the Target grocery section are the standard retail VB products.

The Vienna hot dogs sold at Target are different (and to me inferior) than the regular Vienna Beef franks you get from vendors. Skinless and a different recipe. Also specially made for the roller grill. I had one once at Target and to me it was no different than a dog from 7-11.

Somehow that sounds like a raid on a diploma mill. I think a better descritpion would be "The Associated Press visited the vendor training program given at the main plant of Vienna Beef, Ltd."

I wish Target would stock Vienna hot dogs locally again.
