The best crabcake in Austin, no filler-all crabmeat, has been at Eddie V's for ages. The restaurant is fairly upscale, polished wood, dim lighting but the crabcake is not conical.

Hated to see Perla lose their chef. After he got in a knockdown dragout in the kitchen with a line cook he migrated over to Uchi.

Lots of good eating in Austin these days...

Based on all the information you have provided, would it be Perla?

that said, I am at a loss at naming a place that is Roadfood worthy on Airport Blvd. It has a oyster bar and fish store ambiance. You can buy to take home or stay and eat at the tables. It is a great place for watching and meeting people. I ordered the clams which were prepared in a way that no Yankee would accept, (in a cream sauce).
They were good though.

I had the best crabcakes in an unlikely city. The problem is I can't remember the name of the restaurant. It was a fairly upscale place and the crabcake was all crabmeat, no filler, and came served in a conical shape on the plate. Anyone know where I'm talking about?
