The egg roll was filled with a Kosher hot dog, lightly slathered with crunchy peanut butter. We dipped them in hot mustard and a mixture of sweet and sour sauce to cut the heat. A few places in southeastern Wisconsin serve Reuben rolls, an egg roll filled with corned beef, Swiss cheese, and sauerkraut, dipped into a thousand island sauce. Wegner's St. Martin's Inn in Franklin, WI still offers Reuben rolls, along with Reuben soup.

CSD PhD Professor of Hot Dogs

We can get the Reuben rolls way up here in Rhinelander, Wisconsin as well....along with a Reuben pizza!

Re:Hot Dog Egg Roll (MiamiDon)

CSD I don't know if you noticed in the article, but Eden Wok is kosher Chinese. This is beginning to sound like an old-time kosher Chinese invention that was "rediscovered" by the blogger.

Re:Hot Dog Egg Roll (chicagostyledog)

Chang Chi, a former Kosher Chinese restaurant in Chicago, served hot dog egg rolls, back in the 70's.
