We hit Zuppardi's a few months back and I LOVED the pie (we had a sausage pie). I found it to be different than the "traditional" New Haven pies, I think the cheese was slightly different, and it was a bit thicker in the crust - it reminded me more of one of the best New York slices than a Wooster Street slice. That being said, it ranks up there in my top pizzas in CT list.

The pizza looks great but could I get it without the clams? Clams on a pizza just doesn't sound right to me. Kind of like one of those California pizza kitchen things.

Too funny, Mr. Hoffman. I've been to Zuppardi's several times but only for take-out. The cook chided me one time, making me promise that I'd come back for a sit-down meal. Looks like I'm overdue! Chris

I would have to agree. There is NO such thing as a clam pie where I live! It stinks since Cedar Key is a large producer of clams. I would love to try one. That sausage pizza looks great too, the grease is making me salivate...

It's taken me a long time to stop thinking about the pies from Zuppardi's after Doggydaddy messed with my head about the place some time ago, and my sister in West Haven added to the pain by calling one evening to tell me she'd just had a clam pie -- a fresh clam pie -- from there. And now you do this! Damn!
