Some say the quality has dropped in recent years, but I haven't been there in a decade. The Italian Restaurant families in Des Moines are from Northern Italy, they came here to work in the coal mines a long time ago. The nieghborhood was a prosperous "streetcar suburb" when the place opened up, but that was a long time ago. These Italian places get completely packed during State Fair time.

Chuck's (Des Moines, IA) (ScreamingChicken)

There's a chance I might be visiting Des Moines next month and I'm wondering if anyone can offer an opinion of Chuck's. It looks like an interesting place and the Italian Fried Chicken has caught my eye.

Brad
