boomboxdeb: I never said you had anything to do with ownership or had worked there. In addition, I wouldn't know anything about New York pizza, since I've never had any, and the pizza here in the Philadelphia metropolitan area happens to be pretty darned good. Why were you saying "there is good pizza outside of New York"? Neither Twinwillow nor I live in New York. neither does ken8038, if you want to get technical.

Do you have any other Roadfood-worthy places you can recommend, boomboxdeb?

I've read the TimesNews article per the above link. "boomboxdeb" stated above, he sold his share of the "partnership" and then left town.

To Harriet and Ken - no i have nothing to do with ownership or even employed there. Just a local person that enjoys the food; there just like many others in our area. In regard to the scam of last year, I understand that partner immediately sold his portion out to the other partner. He then left town, as well as the scumbag should have! and good ridence too! This has nothing to do with the quality of the food & the people now there. There is good pizza outside of New York & this is one of those places.

I would love for you to try a pizza place in the south when you are doing your upcoming pizza research. This is Bella's in Bristol, VA . It is located off of I-81 at exit # 5 and turn left is on your left. It is locally owned (two locations) and great! The crust is just right not to thick or thin. The toppings are not little prepackaged little pebbles of stuff either. Large slices of meat and veggies to make a substantial size pizza. All fresh but nothing too fancy. Calzones & subs are the bomb! - especially the homemade italian sausage - ham cap! Salads and dressing s are freshly made with the lettuce in slivers to make it just right for my tastebuds. please check it out - it is a local favorite in the Tri-Cites East TN & So West VA area.
