The roll may have some Mayo spread on the inside to help 'glue' the lobster in place. This was NOT on the Hojo Menu, but would be 'special-made' for customers who requested this version.

A Lobster-Salad Roll was the same portion of Lobster, chopped up a bit more than the original 'chunks', mixed with Mayo and chopped Lettuce then spooned into a grilled Hot Dog Roll.

BTW the Lobster portion was 4oz in all versions of the HoJo menu item. Garnish was a bit of Paprika to add a little color on the salad version.
Re:The New Lobster Roll -- ROFLMAO, And Crying (GregK)
The Panera Bread chain is offering same -- $17 each.

I live in VA, but no, I haven't tried it; I'll make the trip to The Cove, near Mystic, CT, or Arnold's in Eastham, Cape Cod, MA.
Looks like a lot of (chiabatta, no less) bread.

Michael Hoffman

Forget about going to New England for a lobster roll. Not on your life. Fact is, I never heard of clam strips till after I left Connecticut. I was in Houston, and driving somewhere when I saw a Howard Johnson's in Bellaire. I hung a U-turn, pulled in and ordered a couple of hot dogs, and some fried clams. When they brought the clams I was dumbfounded -- I'd never seen anything like those things before. It turned out they were clam strips.
Re:The New Lobster Roll -- ROFLMAO, And Crying (BillyB)

Michael Hoffman

I'm in Ohio, too.
