Congrats Phantom. I know where you are at. I grew up on Okauchee Lake and worked at the Golden Mast all through high school and college. Moved to NC about a year ago after living there for 40 years. I'll make sure to stop in when I go back over the holidays.

Villa Roma Okauchee opened on Tuesday.
We Would Like To Thank All of the Alumni of the Milwaukee Location Who Have Stopped By and Tested the Pizza, and Everything Else For that Matter.
So Far So Good.

New Villa Roma Update: We have just gone through a test run of the recipes, and we are pleased to say that even though we may not have everything exact, it all tastes great!
We will be open mon-thur 4:00pm until 10:00pn and fri & sat 4:00 pm until 11:00pm.

Good luck to you, Phantom. I'd be up for joining any Contingent members for a visit sometime, preferably during the winter months as judging by the number of lakes in the area Okauchee's possibly a popular area during the warmer weather.

After seeing that Villa Roma was closed, we decided we were not going to let another Milwaukee icon die.
After some searching we also found the Craigslist add We are glad to say we were able to buy the name rights and recipes to Villa Roma.
After searching around Milwaukee for about a month we expanded our search and found the perfect little place in Okauchee.
It seats about 48 in the dining room and about 12 in the bar.
It will once again be a family run restaurant with friendly staff and hospitality, not just customer service.
If all goes as scheduled, we should be open around Thanksgiving.
We hope to see everyone soon.

I saw a craigslist listing where someone was selling the name and the recipes for this place.

So for a few grand, you could be in business.

Mrs MFL and I stopped only to find a hand written sign on the door stating that because of lack of maintenance on the building owners part, they found it impossible to run a business there. The sign also gave thanks to the customers for their business over the years but they have no plans on relocating in a new location. The vintage bowling alley next door is also closed.

Villa Roma had a circuitous lineage connection to Milwaukee's original pizzeria, The Caradaro Club. It boasted a very thin crust with black tasty splotches on the underside that were just delicious. It also featured the creamiest mozzarella cheese on a pizza that I'd ever come across.

My desert island pizza choice just lost one of its finalists.

I will miss it very much.
