Wrecking Ball Hits Hogate's in Washington, DC (rumaki)

Apparently the initial Washington Post piece had some errors -- or at least ambiguities -- in it about this historic seafood eatery.

I remember dining at the original Hogate's in the 1960s with my parents and brother. I think it was the first place I ever had lobster. (I tried some of my father's.) But I believe what I actually ordered was fried chicken.

Anybody else ever go to Hogate's, either at the original location, or the one that's being demolished on the Waterfront?
