I started to wonder: How is ice cream such a highly evolved art form in New England, where summer lasts only a month or two, and why doesn't South Florida where its HOT year round have anything outside of boring chain and super market varieties?

Lived here a long time but hoping I've had my head in the sand. Anyone know of any home grown ice cream stores in Ft Lauderdale, Hollywood, or Miami that are worth their weight in sugar?
