Clark Bar is my all time favorite. Tough to find where I live. Get my fix from blaircandy.com.

1917- Clark Bars originated in Pittsburgh and could only be found Regionally. I'm from PA and it's still my favorite.
1955- The Clark family sold the company to Beatrice Food Company. Now part of Necco.

Do you mean you didn't follow the rule that whoever breaks the candy bar in two had to allow the other person to choose the "half" he or she wants?

That would be to close to playing fair, I remember some kids would spit on the larger half so the other kid wouldn't ask for it, or want to measure.

Peanut Butter M&M's. I let em melt in my mouth down to the peanut butter. Then I let the peanut butter melt also. Kinda like eatin an oyster. . Peanut M&M's. I let those melt down to the peanut and then eat tha nut.

I got a new kinda Hershey's bar I like... Symphony. I also let that melt in my mouth.

Oh, Kit Kat Bars and Butterfingers... I chew those up.

No one else knew Candy Barr? She was a kinda famous dancer in Dallas back in the 60's. She also knew Jack Ruby.

Joe, I sure do remember Candy Barr! And, I like Hershey's "Symphony" dark chocolate, too.

I also remember the Almond joy and the Mounds being a bit upper class, us Po Folk didn't buy that kind of candy. I remember having to share with my brother so the Mounds made that cut and dry because there was two pieces. I couldn't screw him out of breaking a bar and giving him the smaller half. I had stolen all the money out of his coin collection to buy candy. Every time I talk with him he reminds me about that, Isn't there a statute of limitations about stealing when your 9 years old..........GGEEEZZZZZ he's 64 get over it, maybe 'll send him a $100,000 Dollar bar.........BillyB

one of my favorites is a caramello bar. and for a great taste while you are eating popcorn alternate between the popcorn with peanut m&ms.

Michael, when you bought your candy at the corner drug store because it was cheaper on your way to the .25 cent matinee. The Peter Paul Mounds and Almond Joy were not the top choices, they were to easy to share. I was thrown out of the Movies one time at 9 years old, I hit a kid in the eye with my Sugar Daddy, man was I in trouble. They made a good weapon and they lasted all day.......................

If I'm not mistaken, when I was a kid in the 50's, I think Mounds and Almond Joy were more expensive than the other candy bars. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

another great bar is the Marathon bar can not find it out here in omaha, but when i go home to the UP. we go over to the SOO and buy what we can get at the Zellers store. Put them in the freezer and break them in small pieces and either eat right away or put in hot chocolate for kids, or hot coaco with baileys and marathan bar. There was laso a fiddle faddle peanut bar with or with out chocolate alot like the planters peanut bar but popcorn and peanuts . ps please bring Molson export back to the US there is a reason it is called export best red ale ever brewed. I am an idiot and the Peanut Chews I've been buying do indeed say Chew-ets®.

On the back of the wrapper it says "Continuing the GOLDENBERG'S® tradition. A favorite for over 87 years."

Now I see you can buy 'vintage' Goldenberg chews on the Just Born website.

Per the rep at Just Born, it's the exact same candy, they just put it in retro packaging. So 18 packages are $27, while in stores (new packages) they are 75 cents each.

Anyone remember the Mars bars when the were flatter and wider than the MW and Snickers? The almonds were full halves and on top, under the REAL chocolate. YUM~!

Oh yes! Those were the great days of the Mars bar.

Bruce, I can still get Goldenberg's Peanut Chews down the street from my apartment fro time to me at a Lot-Less store.

Peanut Chews are in all the stores by me, and in both original dark chocolate and also milk chocolate.

Skybars indeed fail now, and perhaps the ones they sell now were manufactured in the 50s and are just stale.

Like the Valomilk way more than Mallo Cups but I only see them at Cracker Barrels.

Billyboy - I found Mars bars (labeled as that) at the check out of a Super WalMart as well. It's different from what I expected - more nuts than I remember, and for some reason, I thought it was supposed to be a dark chocolate.

My favorite candy bar was always a 3Musketeeers. A close second now would be Reese's whipped pb bar.

My favorites? Let's see... Snickers, Mounds, Butterfinger, Payday, York Peppermint Patty, Baby Ruth, Hershey's Milk Chocolate with Almonds, Zero, and Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. BTW, does anyone remember Mason's Peppermint Patties back in the '50s and '60s?

I must confess. I love all of these that I've heard of and would buy a new one when presented with the opportunity. (Except for the Big Cherry... too sweet)

Reese's (milk chocolate) peanut cups, Heath Bars, and the original (Curtiss) ButterFingers. However, I have an order coming November 1st. for the new Bonomo's (vanilla).
Secondary favorites as a kid were, (the original) 5TH Avenue bar, Chunky and, (the original) Three Musketeers.
My mother loved Goldenberg's Chews and Mound's bars.

@Bill, little hammers? Love Valomilks! When I visit my sis in Syracuse, there is a place called Kinney Drugs that always seems to have Valomilks, Mallo Cups, Smoothies, Goo Goo Clusters and Bun candies among other harder to find ones. I go to Economy Candy on the Lower East Side for my Annabelle's fix and they have Rocky Roads in the cooler months. I've tried the Cherry Mash and I liked the consistency/texture but the cherry flavor was too close to the cough medicine I took as a kid!

Billyboy, The Mallow Cups have a cardboard liner that has a $ amount, we used to save them up and send away for a free box........Like we needed more chocolate...............

My vote for Kit Kat was cast after carefully considering Mounds-Almond Joy, also personal favorites. It's probaby a 3-way tie, so I played eenie meenie. I've been trying to get my hands on a European Kit Kat for while. American Lea & Perrins pales in comparison to the UK recipe.

My personal favorite is Peanut M & M's (strangely missing from the poll choices).

At my work, we operate a small snack bar: coffee, soda, candy, chips etc.(Secondary to the main purpose) Of the several candy bars inventoried, Snickers far outsells the others, combined.

Forever Yours was always my favorite and they'd bring it back for a limited time now and then. When they introduced the Milky Way Dark the Forever Yours name moved to an ice cream bar/treat.

Dark Milky Ways, fresh, right out of the box when the caramel layer pulls like melted cheese when you bite in to it.... Awwwwwww!

When I was younger there was a Hollywood Bar and Butternut bar that were similar but different. Obviously not as good.
