I probably will be going to NYC and Framingham, MA in May. Subject to change when I find out when my niece's wedding date is. If she's going to be a June bride, then I'll switch to June.

I still haven't been to a White Castle or a White Manna, so a dip into Jersey is in order. Oh, and of course maybe my first Italian Hot Dog!

We will again be heading out in our RV to places all over the country. Right now we have definite plans to attend RV rallies in Tombstone, AZ in April and Springfield, IL in May. We always head east once a year to the Washington DC area and vary our route there and back. We also make our Mecca trip to Indianapolis to the Indy 500. No definite plans yet for the summer or fall but we do go north in Minnesota, Wisconsin and the UP, and we are seriously thinking out west again and maybe to Banff and Lake Louise in Canada this year.

Next month we may head north for a few days and stay in a lodge on the Gunflint Trail on a lake across from Canada. Snow is deep.

We are also thinking Florida and New Orleans again. If we do that would have to be in March. That is conflicting since I have enjoyed tapping our Maple trees to make Maple syrup in March.

If that isn't enough, I would love to take a summer cruise in northern Europe to places like Amsterdam, Helsinki, St. Petersburg, Tallin, Stockholm and London. Don't know yet if that will happen.

My brother bought a house on the beach in Chelem, Mexico. That's down on the Yucatan Peninsula. I suppose sooner or later we will have to get down there for a visit. Just don't know when yet.

I have been to St. Marteen a dozen times and never ventured further than the beach by the pier, except for some drinks and a little shopping in town. When you get off the ship it's usually a buck a beer. When you are getting back on they are usually down to 2 for a buck. Incidently, this is the beach that the dancers from the cruise ships frequent. And you know how they hate tan lines

Is that Juggies? 2 Beers (Presidentes IIRC) 2 cigars $2.99? Smallest bar the the world? Off Front Street, follow the walkboard signs.

Enjoy the cruise and if the old farts from Ormond Beach do a lobster roll tour or just St Augustine, I might drive over.

Well, if anyone's travel plans include Atlanta, give me a shout. There are lots of neat little places around town that I'd love to share with my fellow Roadfooders. My main travel this year will be between here and Dallas where my BF lives for now. Since long distance relationships are expensive, I haven't been doing much with this group, but I think of y'all often. If I can rack up some overtime Paul and I plan to go on a cruise in November.

Barbados(Day room at the Hilton and flying fish sandwiches)

Joe , for St Marteen... you'll be over on Maho Beach. Most likely the Sunset Beach Bar there, mostly tourista stuff served there. Just past a ways is Bernies Bamboo House, with ribs, sushi and pizza. But on the way to Maho, you'll be going past Simpson's Bay. You should look for Hilma's Windsor Castle. It's a pinkish/faded brown trailer in a parking lot by the bank. 3-4 bar stools on a foldout counter. If you're there early she may have callaloo stew or saltfishcakes. Or before you get to the bridge, look for Skipjacks fish market. Fresh seafood.

Don't forget about Ron's Cajun Connection! Sunday is the only day he opens for lunch, other days he opens at 4. Also note, he's been closed for the Holidays and will reopen Jan. 6 at 4.

Ron's has been on this year's list ever since things didn't work out last August, even if it meant making a special trip (L-P is only about 2 hours from my house) and since I have the additional trip to Indiana I'll have the opportunity to stop twice!

My plans for 2011 include visiting many of the place wanderingjew and buffetbuster discovered while visiting Virginia. Travel plans will probably take us to NoVa, MD, and Ohio. Exploring Eden Center in Arlington; revisiting Courtney's in St. Mary's County MD and the Pub in Lewisburg WV (more for the music than the grub); trying Chap's Pit Beef and visiting the Lexington Market in Baltimore; a swing through Pittsburgh on the way to Ohio. All things I'd like to do this year. I've no idea how many I'll be able to do.

My plans also include trying to take pictures and write reports.
But, also, my plans include being more conscious about my health so it can't be all Roadfood all the time.

The American Club in Kohler, Wisconsin, makes a mean Creme Brulee French Toast. I wasn't sure at first either, Michael, but it's awesome, with a nice sugar crust. They have it on their brunch buffet & it was all I could do not to go make a sandwich out if it with bacon in the middle.

This year come hell or high water I am going to Chicago to visit the Meatloaf Bakery:

There is a made-to-order pancake station & a dude who makes pancakes with TRAIL MIX!!!! Chocolate chips, nuts & raisins. Sounds crazy, but it works wonderfully.

Now this is probably not Roadfood as it is a little pricey. But it is a very nice place, worth going at least once.

There was a post recently (within the past several weeks, I think) with a photograph of some creme brulee french toast. I can't find the post and I can't get the creme brulee french toast out of my mind. Huge problem! My plans for the upcoming year include going to wherever that french toast is served. Can anybody help me out so I can figure out where I have to go??????????

I do not have huge plans this year, but a couple of trips I am really looking forward to:
A swing through southern Indiana/Kentucky-with a side trip to southern Illinois/St Louis.
Annual trip to Greensboro, N.C. and Raleigh-maybe all the way to the ocean.And when I win the lottery, the world is my pearl!!!!!

A couple of people have mentioned 2011 elsewhere so I thought I'd start a thread specifically about Roadfooding in the new year.

My first trip is in January, when I get together with college and other friends in Appleton for The Great Midwest Trivia Contest (it's my 25th consecutive year). For the trip up I'm planning on lunch at Tabbert's in Rosendale and possibly dinner at Mom's Place in Brillion. Or maybe a pizza at Cranky Pat's in Neenah or Oshkosh.

April brings a trip to my alma mater for the Drake Relays, although this year Mrs. Olson might not be able to tag along (no, she's not doing something for Folger's Coffee that weekend). If I'm by myself I might try to work in a visit to the National Brewery Museum, and it also means I'll be spending the weekend on the couch in my friend Gully's basement. He's not a member here but is definitely a Roadfooder at heart, so hopefully I'll be able to convince him that we should eat at Chuck's, Woody's, or Smokey D's.

This year I also have a May trip to Indianapolis, which I mentioned in a different thread. I'm hoping to find a good-to-memorable meal or 2 along the way as well as during my 3 days there.

I've posted here before about the family vacation in July in the Cable, Wisconsin area, where it seems like Flatlanders outnumber Cheeseheads by about 10:1 during the summer. There are hundreds of places to eat here and we try to hit 1 new place and 1 "old reliable" every year.

At the end of August I visit friends in southern Ohio, and this year I've already made plans to meet Roadfooder 6star at Bemer's Village Inn in Spring Bay, Illinois. I'm looking forward to dining and staying at the Canyon Inn in Indiana on my trip out and maybe even the Starved Rock Inn on the way back. Kathy and her family visited here quite often when she was younger so I'm trying to justify a visit by using the "but I've never been there" approach but I'm not sure if she's buying it yet. But either way I'm not missing Ron's Cajun Connection this year!!

This past year we didn't visit the in-laws in Arkansas for Thanksgiving so I imagine that this year we'll be going, and that means a quick visit with the Dr. of BBQ and maybe a meal at Cozy Dog or pizza at Top Cat's in Springfield, Illinois. Sometimes we overnight there on our way back home and that might open up some more possibilities, too.

Geez...I didn't realize how much I travel until I started putting this post together! Certainly it's not as much as some but it's definitely a lot for me!

So what are your plans for 2011?
