(Michael Hoffman)

It seems that FLOTUS, that's Michelle Obama, has kind of messed up, gastronomically speaking. In praising Charlotte, North Carolina, the city Democrats have chosen for their 2012 convention, she named as wonderful attributes of the city, "southern charm, hospitality, diversity — 'And of course, great barbecue.' "

The barbeque complement was news to Charlotte residents. A Charlotte Observer blog post said "Charlotte = great barbeque? Who knew?" And The Associated Press quoted a retired University of North Carolina professor as saying, "Charlotte for barbeque was 'like Minneapolis for gumbo.' "

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0211/48756.html
