Having tried some of the recipes, I think you and I could do better!
Hmm, a thought, my friend! But iIwould love to go to Greendale to visit their kitchens and restaurant-maybe a date with me now that I am out and about again?
Re:Taste of Home Magazine (stricken_detective)

Annie, if I remember it correctly, there is a TOH outlet store, they sell the cookbooks & other cute kitchen items.

The 2 books I wish they would put out would be culled from 15 years of reader tips:

"What I add to make ________ special" and "Leftover Makeovers"

Re:Taste of Home Magazine (ann peeples)

Looking at the site and menu, I am happy to see the restaurant is being run by Heineman's, who owned very nice cafes all thru the Milwaukee area for years. Their food was very good, and from the looks of it, some of their old favorites are on board. They still serve a club the way it should be-turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo. And one of their stand by burgers is there-an Arizona burger-just bbq sauce, bacon and cheese. Good burger in its simplicity. I will be visiting there soon, and will report back.
Re:Taste of Home Magazine (6star)

 http://www.menuism.com/restaurants/heinemanns-taste-of-home-greendale-143902
Re:Taste of Home Magazine (stricken_detective)

^^what claracamille said. Once Mr Reiman sold it, they began putting ads in the magazine & lo & behold, the recipes JUST HAPPENED to have ingredients that were in the ads!!! What a coincidence! I hated that & stopped subscribing.

They had one I liked called Quick Cooking, they also had one with healthier recipes real recently, can't remember what they named it.

They used to have a Taste of Home restaurant in downtown Greendale, wonder why it closed or if it's still there?
Re:Taste of Home Magazine (claracamille)

While I am happy Jane & Michael Stern have another outlet, I have say Taste of Home has changed it format so drastically that I not longer subscribe. Both the number & quality of recipes have decreased in the past year. My mother, niece, daughter & I have canceled our subscriptions recently.
I listen to Jane & Michael on the Spendid Table a NPR cooking show. Try it.
Re:Taste of Home Magazine (ces1948)

I like the magazine but one word of warning if you subscribe.
