Never understood the Pringles thing. Regurgitated potato mush, salted. Kind of like a salted cereal product. Come now!!! Isn't the real thing, though not machine shaped tastier and far cheaper????

My family and I used to wonder whether Pringles were actually food. As evidence that they might not be, I cited the fact that they were made by a soap company. Such speculation, however, didn't keep us from munching through the entire can.

Thank you, bill, for a nostalgic trip back in time. I remembered all of the items except the Torengos corn chips.

Being in the grocery business, Proctor and Gamble was always a major player, very powerful, and constantly demanding additional (and many times unwarrented) shelf space. Because of these demands, even though we would never say it to a Proctor & Gamble salesman's face, in private we would say that they must think that "P & G stood for Proctor and God".

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel doesn't carry the P & G Brandsaver anymore. JERKS.

Maybe now they can focus on bringing back the best TP ever, Charmin with Aloe. The kind they used to make, not this stuff they're trying to pass off.

I have noticed that recently they have expanded their "beauty" products (for men as well as women) tremendously. (We get a huge section of P & G coupons every month in our Sunday newspaper.) Maybe they feel that the "beauty" area is where they can make the most profit for the least cost. I noticed that this month they have added a "body wash" for men to their lineup. I guess soap just isn't good enough any more!

As the population ages, you need more beauty products help. Me? I'm still beautiful! My secret???---Lye Soap! Or is that Lie Soap?

Diamond is a good brand, so I hope they do well with Pringles. I sure wish someone would bring back Eagle Snacks tater chips, almonds, white cheddar popcorn, etc.

I liked Eagle Snacks nuts too!
Budweiser sold Eagle Snacks to P & G in1996. The Eagle Snacks brand was purchased from P&G by River West Brands and is now operated by a River West subsidiary. Still sold as "Eagle" but don't know where.

P&G sells Pringles for $1.5 Billion to Diamond Foods. They're the walnut people. Does this mean you'll get a walnut in every can of Pringles and how will they keep it from crushing the chips?
My SIL started her career right out of college with P&G traveling the country, going door to door handing out samples of Pringles to a market that didn't know there was anything besides potato chips. Shows what tons of money and marketing can do.
P&G is unloading all it's Food Brands including Folgers coffee, Jif peanut butter, Crisco Shortening and Sunny Delight drinks. I wonder what they know???
