I would definetly drive one hour south on I-81 for this!

The Coal Region Burger Tour (CRBT)looks like a great time. And I want to try a screamer sooooo bad.

From what I have gathered, Tony's Lunch, home of the Screamer, isn't open for lunch. The place opens around 7 PM, and closes when they run out of food. Talk about a RF Joint!

ken8038, I talked with the owner today, they still serve a full line of Catawissa soda.

ConeyIslandLou, The sign was lit today.

Fresh chopped onions vs. fried onions.

Both are excellent choices

Big election for Magistrate in the area....

ScreenBear, In the link at the bottom of my first post, it appears the light is illuminated. My guess is that the sign works perfect. I was the first one there when they opened and a professional cleaner was just leaving. I saw him unscrewing light bulbs, cleaning them and putting them back. This place is in tip-top shape!

Must have been 15 years ago we stopped there on the way home after an overnight family trip to Knoebels Amusement Park. (very roundabout way to get back to NJ, as usual).

What I remember most is instead of Coke or Pepsi they served local Catawissa Soda in old style painted label glass bottles. I know Catawissa is still in business. Do they still serve it there?

This may very well be my favorite Coney Island!

Owned by the same family for 93 years, this place cranks out some awesome burgers and dogs.

The burger were small, but very juicy and tasty, loaded with fried onions and chili. The hot dog had a great smoke and spice flavor. I asked what brand they use and was told it's a secret

No menus, just burger and dogs. No hours were posted, but I'm told they stay open till 2:00 AM on weekends.

Funny, while I was waiting on the sidewalk for a friend to arrive. A van pulls up and parks in front of Coney Island. A BIG tough looking dude in an orange jumpsuit and shackles gets out, along with two deputies. The one deputy was getting his paperwork together and I am looking around wondering where they are going. Honestly, I thought they were going to take him for a hot dog! As it turned out, the nondescript yellow building two doors down must be a magistrates office because they ended up going in there.
