Never had a whoopie pie...but I've seen stores like Sur La table sell whoopie pie kits! Are they like choco pies that you can buy in the supermarket??

The wife and I experienced this establishment last summer on our journey through Maine. Well worth the stop. Highly recommended and quite inexpensive compared to the mass produced products.

(Slightly off topic)
I haven't had one in years but recently, driving back to Dallas from Austin, I stopped at the Czech House bakery in West, Texas and bought a fresh chocolate moon pie with a vanilla marshmallow filling. Just like the one pictured at the top of the page.
I didn't eat it there. But, I took it home and with a
glass of cold milk, I ate it and raptured over every bite. It was, soooooo good!

True. Completely overshadowed by the Chrysler bailout in the '80's little news was given to the comparatively huge bailout given the whoopie pie industry during their fiscal crisis caused by the hydrongenated vegatable oil commodities scandal on Wall Street.

People who have questioned the ingredients in the rich creamy filling have been known to disappear, never to be heard from again. But, I've already said too much.

I fear we are going to be reading about a body crushed to a creamy consistency and lodged between two luscious chocolate cakes having been found along the marshes of the Delaware river.

Some things are best left unsaid.

At the risk of violating the site's ban on political discourse, I can't think of anything more worthy of our attention! What is my state doing with regard to this issue? If they don't act now, all the good desserts will be taken and we'll be forced to claim that awful banana pudding on the nilla wafer box as our state dessert!
