It should give the casserole some nice fuller flavor no one will notice there aren't mushrooms.

___________________
www.worldnewsofcelebrity.com
Re:Green bean soup (gregys)

Hey, you can try what you like. All I know is that it came out great as described.
I was looking at the recipe again. I sort of scanned the web to guess at which concoction might be like mothers.

Wow, I just search gregs page, and my page comes in near top. It hasn't been like that for about 15 years since I first found it in infoseek.

I don't like the potatoes mushy. Adding mashed might be fine. Im not a cook. I also don't like the soup too thick.

Some day soon, I will not have gregs page on Pitt server, or as long as it lasts. I retired from Pitt. All my stuff will be transferred to my zekfrivolous.com website.

Re:Green bean soup (MellowRoast)

Recipe sounds good to me, too. I'd probably add a little Worcestershire.
Re:Green bean soup (Michael Hoffman)

As long as you're adding sour cream might as well toss in a blintz.
Re:Green bean soup (mar52)

 Now add sour cream.
Re:Green bean soup (edwmax)

mar52

I'm not sure about this one...

add some flour and corn starch

Both, flour AND cornstarch? To potato soup?

I'm with you on this. I came up with a good match of mothers soup.
It's really green bean and potato in creamy sauce. Last time I made it I ate too much. Caution, it's addicting.

http://www.pitt.edu/~szekeres/green%20bean.htm

Greg
