Does this mean a side trip to Gary, Indiana?

While Anderson's may be Roadfood-worthy, it is not exactly convenient to the rest of the Chicago metro area. Richmond lies about 50-60 miles northwest of the city, with no interstate or major state highway leading up there. The best road up that way would be Rand Road, Highway 12, which is loaded with stoplights and slow speed zones as it passes through multiple communities along the way.

A visit could be accomplished as part of a trip between Milwaukee and Chicago. Detour on state highway 50 west from I-94 and then US-12 south to Richmond, which would be 4 lanes most of the way.

A Friday fish fry is about as Milwaukee as things get. Lake perch <No Sub>. They have an unusually strong Serb community, too, including a Serb language TV station, and foods to back it up. Lots of very good custard. Wisconsin is strong on candy as well due to the dairy. And sausage, especially bratwurst. A few outstanding German places. Can't wait for the details. Would be fun to join the trip.

Now that the Chicago/Milwaukee tour has been decided, I recommend a stop along the way at Anderson's Candy Shop,

Never been there, but have ordered candy from them online. Quality product from a family owned business. Check out their web site. Obviously not a restaurant, but believe it fit in with Roadfood type places.

90 miles north of Chicago is some of the finest corned beef, custard, cheeseburgers, pizza, and beer in Milwaukee. While the Contingent continues to return to Chicago for eat n' greets, one of our first Contingent tours was the Cheesehead in Beertown Tour.

I wasn't aware that New Orleans was the permanant home of the Spring tour. I have enjoyed my trips to New Orleans in the past and will again in the future. I understand the draw that the cuisine of New Orleans has, I just think that they should take thier turn like everyone else. That said, the Sterns make the decision.

I believe there are only two official Roadfood events a year. There is the New Orleans Street Festival, which is held in late March. And the Roadfood Bus Tour, which for the last couple years has been in mid-September. This is held in a different city each year.

I'm not sure what you mean by the Feb-Mar Roadfood tour. Could you possibly be thinking about the President's Day weekend Glee Club get together?

I think that we should reserve trips to southern locales for the Feb-Mar Roadfood tours. I think that we can all agree that Roadfood tours in the northern states should be limited to the Fall tour. That gives us one Roadfood trip in the Fall in a locale that has cold weather in the winter and one in the early Spring to a warm locale. It is only fair!

Make in the NYC tri state area tour and join our 8th Annual NJ Hot Dog Tour presented by Hot Dog Nation on Sat Sept 24th .
What other tour do you know can fill two motorcoaches with a waiting list to drive around Jersey eating dogs ?

Two of the places being considered for last year, Memphis and Charleston, would be outstanding choices this year. And I have always thought that Milwaukee would be a natural, too.

But, I have so much fun on these Roadfood bus tours, cousin Johnny and I will be there wherever they decide to go!

Now that it is June, I thought it is time to start talking about where we should go for the Fall Roadfood Tour. I decided to start it now in the hope that a decision can be made far enough in advance not to price those of modest means out of being able to attend. I realize that the decision will be made by the Sterns but I hope that like last year they will take our wishes into account. What are your suggestions?
