Thanks, Twin, for the tip on Jay Jerrier's, Il Cane Rosso. The next trip that far south we were going to Fuel City Tacos.

Now you have made life difficult!

Better than Olivella's is high praise, indeed. And, I checked the menu: fewer $$$, too.

I've only been to their West Village location and it too was, tasteless!
And, much better than Olivella's that MetroplexJim mentioned is Jay Jerrier's, Il Cane Rosso
on Commerce Street in Deep Ellum. Just across the street from Twisted Root. Cane Rosso is serving the very best pizza in Dallas! He was also awarded that famous Neapolitan "certification of excellence".

Grimaldi's has three Dallas locations. Twinwillow evidently doesn't care for their Park Lane store (he has a better choice in Olivella's available to him in nearby (to him) University Park), but we do like the one in Allen - especially when we get the e-mail coupons for our free birthday pizzas on Jan. 4 and May 13! All their locations outside NYC have one thing in common - a large discretionary income demographic. Frankly, I'm surprised that they have no stores in the Arlington, Fairfax, and Montgomery suburbs of Washington, DC.

They get "discretionary income" from all over the USA!

... I got a look inside and with the white tablecloths, fancy glassware and cloth napkins it doesn't exactly look like a Pizza joint. I could kick myself for not asking to see a menu. I hope to give it a try next time I'm down there but hope to find out the pricing first. It really doesn't look like the kind of place you just go in and grab a slice.

Sounds like the Anthony's Coal-fired Pizza chain. They spent some serious money decorating the one in Pinecrest, FL (btw, I just saw they have one in PBG now, too).

The Grimaldi's that opened in New Paltz about a year ago offers excellent pizza - whole pies only. The toppings are delicious and the thin crust is perfect to my taste.

After months of construction Grimaldi's is now open in a pretty snazzy shopping area called "Downtown at the Gardens" in the West Palm Beach area. I do some work with Cobb Theaters in the same center and get there about once a month. They weren't open at 2PM when I was there last Wens but the manager came out and told me they would be open staring 06/27/11 at 11 AM everyday. I got a look inside and with the white tablecloths, fancy glassware and cloth napkins it doesn't exactly look like a Pizza joint. I could kick myself for not asking to see a menu. I hope to give it a try next time I'm down there but hope to find out the pricing first. It really doesn't look like the kind of place you just go in and grab a slice.
