Do you guys sell equipment.....like that double hot dog steamer inside the Columbia. Ben's Carts has a list of items from his Carts but he don't have the double steamer

We started out with this (home built cart)

Roofed it over in NM

and ended up with this which is classified as a mobile kitchen.... Thanks Texas!

The price difference between purchasing a hot dog cart with a fully enclosed sneeze guard to meet HD requirements and purchasing an enclosed trailer is VAST. Especially when you consider that if a HD's requirements are stringent enough to require such an enclosure, you can bet that there will be quite a few costly requirements for an enclosed unit (fire suppression, custom plumbing, tanks, etc).

buy a 5x8 enclosed trailer, put a serving window in it, and push your cart up inside of it, and get rid of the mini sauna, lol

Hi domromer, welcome.

I looked at something like that when I was buying my cart. It was a large plexiglass box you step into that covers all sides and top. It looked very awkward and hot. It would be good for serving in the wind. It sounds excessive to me. You couldn't even talk to your guests. Most can get away with an umbrella or canopy.

This one you wouldn't step into but you'd reach into it from a hinged door on the front. Think of a regular sneeze guard over the steamer pans then extend that all the way back to the display case...it sounds like a real pain to me. I'm going to go down to the city today and talk to someone. It sounds like someone is going overboard with their intripritation of how the restaurant laws apply to a cart.

I'm in the process of setting up a cart in charleston sc and I'm in the process of getting a cart approved. Today I was told that the sneeze guard needs to cover the entire surface not just the steam trays. The cart I'm thinking of purchasing has a steam tray that covers all the steam pans( the cart is the ventura) has anyone else had to cover the entire cart with a sneeze guard? I've seen hot dog vendors in a few different cities and I've never seen a fully enclosed cart.
